Dr. Fabio G. Ritto is a Fellowship trained Pediatric Craniofacial Surgeon specialized in the treatment of children and adults requiring surgical treatment for Facial Differences, including cleft lip and palate, facial deformities, facial reconstructions, and Temporomandibular Joint (TMJ) disorders. Born and raised in Rio de Janeiro, Dr. Ritto completed dental school, medical school, and OMFS training in his hometown. He served as a faculty and later as the Program Director of the Rio de Janeiro State University OMS Residency Program for over 10 years, while also running a busy private practice.
On top of the dental school, medical school, and OMS residency, Dr. Ritto has a Master of Science Degree and a PhD, and has made significant contributions to surgical knowledge through multiple researches, scientific articles, book chapters, and lectures.
He came to the US to train in Pediatric Craniofacial Surgery with Dr. Kevin Smith and Dr. Paul Tiwana at the University of Oklahoma, and after completing his training, Dr. Ritto assumed a faculty appointment at the OU OMS Department.
When Dr. Kevin Smith decided to retire, Dr. Ritto was hand-picked to carry on the Cleft and Craniofacial Surgery legacy, including the only ACPA-approved Cleft Team in the state of Oklahoma, the Directorship of the Oral and Maxillofacial Residency Program, and the care of all the patients that Dr. Smith has ever treated. It was a great honor that Dr. Ritto took great pride and responsibility.
Dr. Ritto is accepting new adult and pediatric patients for general and complex oral and maxillofacial procedures including primary and secondary cleft lip and palate surgery, orthognathic surgery, temporomandibular joint surgery, rhinoplasty, wisdom tooth extraction, and dental implants.
